My car is Peugeot 405. Every time I pour antifreeze, I notice that my car's head gasket is burning. Is antifreeze harmful to the cylinder head gasket? Especially when I use a thermostat of 83 degrees.
Thanks

No. You need it in the engine cooling system if for no other reason the anti corrosion additives in it.
So why Hot Temperature like 96 Degree Centigrade is Suitable for my Peugeot 405 when that high temprature usually burns head gasket if we use thermostat of 83 Centigrade degree?
