Toyota dealer suggested a brake fluid change on my '15 Rav4 w/85k. I'm a DIY'er for some maintenance but I've never heard of this requirement. Is this a real thing??

Well yeah brake fluid wears out over time. It's hygroscopic meaning it's absorbs water and you do need to change out every once in a while you can do with yourself. Watch my videos on bleeding brakes
