Is converting my 07 ranger to a Standard worth it?

Hey Scotty!

Let me start off by saying I'm a huge fan. You're the reason I learned how to work on cars!

I have a 07 ranger with a 3.0 engine and automatic trans. It has no frame rot (plenty in the doors though) and about 102000 miles on it. I changed the pullys, belts, and everything else you suggested to do after 100k miles. My mechanic quoted me for $2000 to convert it to a manual. I trust the guy 100% my only question is will the truck last long enough to make it worth my money?

Thanks,

Hank

No, if you want a manual you would be best off to find one that is a manual, maybe even with less miles and not door rot.

What's the $2000 quote for? the whole job, parts and labor? Will it last longer enough; who knows. It can last 1 week or years, you know your truck better than us. You have to ask yourself is the juice worth the squeeze?
