I'm looking for any used car around 3000 to 5000 dollars
It depends on the car and how it's been treated. I've bought 'em with over 200,000 miles and made out OK. It's going to be tough to find anything decent in that price range in this market.
when I was looking for a car to haul my older dog around, everything in that price range was at rough at best to rolling p.o.s. Definitely get whatever you look at thoroughly checked out.
It is possible but you need to be patient and when you find one make sure to have it inspected.
It depends. What do you want it for?
Well, sadly In todays market these prices are absurd. I would suggest with the budget range you’re in. If you want a decent vehicle for that price, look on Craigslist, Facebook marketplace, and LEAST RECOMMENDED site to use if cargurus. It usually is very well, but the “great deal” “good deal” “fair deal” isn’t based on good deals anymore. It only compares it to similar vehicles on the site. If you want to make sure you’re getting a fair deal (go to KBB) and plug in the information of the vehicle you look at. Then the good thing about buying from FB marketplace and/or Craigslist. Most of the sellers are private individuals and not dealerships with ridiculous fees like doc fees, prep fees, and emission fees ~1000-2000$ extra on top of price. With FB marketplace and Craigslist you can talk to the owner and show them fair prices, and also bring your scanner and show the seller ABSOLUTELY ANY PROBLEM you find (paint chips, noises, generic codes) whatever you can find to lower the price in todays market. So yeah just make sure to use the information above wisely, and MAKE sure you check the vehicles condition, cause like some of these people said above, some of these cars you will look at on FB, Craigslist, maybe actual lemons and/or bad vehicles. So just be smart and bring your own scan tool and be smart. I wish you good luck! Let us know how it goes!
