2016 Mercedes Sprinter (with OM642 turbo diesel), 50k miles. The emission control system is known to be the first point of failure often around 100k miles. Some fuel additives claim they can clean DPF and EGR components, is it smart to start using them now or are they hard on the engine in other ways? Thank you!

- It's not really needed as long as you use good gasoline
