The manual states the following...
●If recharging with the battery installed on the vehicle, be sure to disconnect the ground cable.
I cannot disconnect battery due to intoxiloc installed...would it be safe to use a battery maintainer at all or what would you suggest?

if that's what the manual says, then you better not. It might have some pulsing or desulfation functions that could cause problems.
There are trickle chargers out there that can be left plugged in. They're just dumb transformer power supplies with no electronics.
