I’ve heard about Acura reliability but I want to know how reliable a 2018-2020 Acura TLX is and any common problems that come with them. Thanks.
Clarification: Which engine/transmission combo are you asking about? You had 2 choices for those years.
If it has the ZF 9-speed transmission I would think twice. Otherwise both engines and overall car is robust.
I wouldn't buy it because the first one had transmission issues (jerking). I think Honda fixed the issue but since the reliability isn't stable, I would look at something else.
The engines are sweet, but the ZF 9 speed is questionable. It's a good transmission however Honda/Acura is notorious for using crappy transmission software for the ZF 9 speed in some of their cars like the TLX, MDX, and Honda Pilot and that caused a lot of problems with jerking and being slow to downshift and upshift, although I am not sure if they fixed via software update. Road test one and if the transmission is behaving weirdly, don't buy it. Then get an older Acura like a TL.
