Is the gear box of" avensis 2.0 147 h.p is compatible with toyota avensis 1.8 vvti 129.hp .Both of them are gasoline engines. I want to replace them cuz my avensis gear box is broken .
Wow! If you're talking about an automatic transmission, there's too much computer differences sensor differences to swap one. But if you're talking about a manual transmission, it should work
I'm talking abouth manual transmission. My car is Toyota avensis 1.8 vvti 129.hp 2003 year. The gear box wich I want to buy is from same model toyota avensin but is /2.0 / 147 h.p /2004 year . And me and my mechanic wasn't really sure will be working or no .I will buy it in Tuesday and when the 2nd hand gear box is in the car I will share here the result.
@tanko I would at least do a visual check for any obvious differences. Look for overall layout, shift linkage, clutch linkage, and transmission mount. There may be internal differences. Bear in mind that the Avensis was not sold in the U.S. so we are not very familiar with that model here.
OK, and wich another toyota model gear box is suitable for my car?
@tanko Since your car is not sold in the U.S. most of us here (myself included) would have no idea. If the transmission itself (not just parts of it) carries a Toyota part number you can compare that to other Toyotas.
OK thanks!
