What is your opinion of the 2021 or 2022 Honda HRV?
Clarification: Are you asking about the 2nd generation (model years 2016-2021) or the all new 3rd generation (model years 2022+)?
Its got a realiability rating of 76 out of 100 by JD Power (which is about average). Theyve got cvt transmissions which can be expensive to fix. Most of them can be expected to last aroud 100,000 miles without repairs. cvt transmissions have the tendency to hang at high rps, which causes the engine to rev wildly under acceleration, But they are a bit smoother in most situations than standard transmissions. The only available engine for the HR-V is a 1.8 liter 4 cylinder that develops 141 hp and 127 lb-ft of torque. They are rated at 28/34 mpg city/highway with the front wheel drive, and those with four driven wheels return 27/31 mpg. They have nice interiors, but ive heard people complain about uncomfortable seats, defective paint and window gasket leaking. Not much to say about the suspention, but honda did recall the 2015 and 2016 models for strut and shock problems. The Drive (automotive news) said that overall they expect the car to last about 200,000 miles. The HR-V isn't by any means fast, but it gets you around, and honda parts are easy to find. My opinion about it: hondas are known for their phenomenal mileage and reliability. If I found one of these for a good price without any serious problems I would go for it. Hope that helps.
