do you think it is?
really good deal
¥3900 = $35.80
😆
idk if its a scam cause of the low price. Why is this in Japanese Yen currency
I personally think $3900 for a 22 year old money pit vehicle with 250k is absolutely nuts. I'm kind of surprised you would even consider it.
what about 4runners are they good.
4runners are highly sought after, which makes them overpriced. Not a good first car. Sorry kid, you're gonna have to get something ugly that nobody wants LOL. What was your budget again... $5k? In NY right?
Correct. I want a v6 lexus or toyota.
Do you think I should get rid of my dad's 15 accord with 45k miles and buy something nicer?
I bet @kerem could find some sweet deals for you.
Why would you get rid of a 2015 Accord with low mileage? That sounds like a great car. Does your dad usually let you get rid of his cars?
He beat the hell that of that car; it has 3 accidents, its the base model, and isn't powerful enough for my dad. I want him to replace it with a tougher car with more power like a gx460 or something...
Do you think the 2013 ls460 are good cars used?
Some day for you my friend, but not today. Try looking up maintenance costs.
There are plenty of cars in upstate NY, mister. I found these in about 5 minutes

I'm from westchester ny actually, not really a compact sedan fan being 6 foot 5, but thanks anyway.
so what, go for a little road trip. Cars are going to be a lot more expensive and hard to come by in the city. My dad flew from Vancouver to Georgia for a car, then drove it back. He ended up not liking it, so he fixed it up and sold and still made money after the plane ticket cost, and had a nice vacation!
Anyway, I'm a short guy so I've never had to think about height 😆 I can see why you're interested in SUVs now. Keep looking I'm sure you'll find something. The market looks decent in NY
Also please don't spend $6000 on a Honda hybrid with 140k miles, thats absurd.

To be fully honest if you want a 20 year old V8 Lexus go ahead but I can bet you that it WILL become a money pit probably actually one of the worst first cars out there.
If you can spare $7000 get yourself a 2006-2008 RAV4 V6 like you wanted.
I was originally putting tens of listings of Honda Fits just like @mountainmanjoe (which he is correct they are great little cars) was but there is so many that I'm just going to redirect you to cargurus.com if you are considering one you can find plenty 2010+ under 100k miles under 5 grand. 2017+ Honda Fits with 20k miles go for around 11 grand in your area so they are a real bargain.
I posted multiple RAV4 V6 listings under 8 grand in a previous post check those out if you are still interested in your dream car.
i dont like honda's man; i'd drive my dads honda accord if i liked them. I wanted toyotas or lexuses. I appreciate you taking your time and putting listings for me though.
Still interested in the RAV4?

look , this is your first car on a budget. If you were spending $20k, you could afford to be picky, but c'mon....
I heard people here say the Honda Fit is good for tall people. Check these babies out...

My GM's used to come with tilting telescopic steering columns. But it seems less common now that they're cutting every corner.

Joe, you think it would be a good idea to maybe get the lx470 for like $2500 and then to trade in the car after like a couple of months if I don't like it so I would avoid major repairs?
why on earth would anyone sell a Lexus in good condition for $2500 ?
ikr
What do you think about the 2008 Toyota RAV4 Limited V6 AWD?
I think it's also great, but I think the 2009 had many improvements in the mid cycle refresh
Yes, but you need to make some sacrifices for your first car plus improvements means more $$$$

So I shouldn't take the lx470. I just want to try out what a lexus feels like and maybe get the car for like $2500 and then wanted to trade in the car after like a couple of months.
you will always lose your shirt on a trade-in . Scotty constantly reminds us in his videos (and I can confirm from experience). You have champagne tastes on a wine budget. Keep it simple.
i just want a temporary car for my family to see what a lexus product feels like and wanted to trade it in; i wouldn't lose much money on a trade in on a cheap car, right?
2500? impossible, still no
I would run away from that but thats just me because lets say you got it for $2500 then something fails well its a V8 so either goodbye 2500 bucks or put another 2500 bucks into it.
What about the Toyota Avalon the premium experience you get from it rivals Lexus.
Best case scenario for a Lexus, you say you wan't to try it out, get an RX! It would be newer, have less miles, have a 3.3/3.5 V6... Its basically a luxury RAV4 with more space and a V6.
My parents traded in a 15 year old car before. Private party around 3500 right? Dealer got it for 500 bucks. Edmunds says private party value on that thing is 1300 bucks. c'mon now
wow; dealers suck i guess your right
your parents can look after themselves. Focus on your own car.
well all dealers are different though. dealer near me they were willing to work with my dad on $15000 for his 2015 acccord with 45k miles even though it is only 13k private party value
You don't get it. When you trade in a car, they just tack that trade-in amount onto the price of the car you're getting. You never ever sell anything to the person you're buying from! LOL. The way you do it, is sell the car to somebody else, and then use that money to buy a car from someone else.
i guess your right. Joe, do you own a dealer or smh cause you know a lot about cars??
Plus these are CARS we're talking about. Cars are the WORST investments in the world because they depreciate. Every time you sell one car and get another, you LOSE. Unless you're rich, you want to buy/sell cars as LITTLE as possible.
no I don't sell cars. These are just things you pick up in life.
Endrit, so where are you at in terms of what car to buy?
Honestly trading in a low mileage Honda Accord getting a $2500 20 year old V8 Lexus as a first car and trading that in sounds like your screaming "I've got all the money in the world!!!"
You WILL loose your shirt like Joe said.
Your dream car is a RAV4? Get a RAV4 but you may need to compromise on year or trim.
Want to try out a Lexus? Get a V6 one newer than 15 years old.
Simple guidlines right
You should tell my parents to stop leasing cars. They leased a crv and accord a couple years ago both base model I4 for 8000 each for 3 years and only put 30000 miles on each of them...
Look here's my advice. Find yourself a nice cheap Rav4. They're good cars, and they'll get you to work reliably. Get yourself a good job and save up some money. A couple years down the road, you'll be making more, and you'll have some more money in the bank, and your Rav won't have depreciated TOO MUCH. You might loose $1k on it which is still good. Then you sell it, put your money together, and get something a little nicer.
Also , it's a lot easier to look for cars to buy when you already HAVE a good one. They you're not pressured. You can take your time looking. You can WAIT for that perfect deal.
Got it, Joe.
Yes Joe said it very well.
Just drive the boring Accord until you find a listing you like. Remember, you might have to make a small compromise. Something like the 06-08 V6 or 09-12 4 cylinder should do the job just fine.
Whats your dream car, @kerem Corolla, camry v6, or smh else?
I mean for a first car, I'd take a Honda Fit, Camry V6 whatever as long as its decent and reliable its fine but more fun than a Corolla. RAV4 is also on my radar.
My dream car would be the 2012 Volvo S60 T5 in blue but definitely not getting that for a first car.
