Oil Change Frequency

Hi Scotty! I have a 2008 Ford Taurus at 55K miles, automatic transmission. Driving it so little now (260 miles in the past 6 months). Should the oil be changed at 6 month intervals or when? Does the oil degrade by just sitting?

Also have a 2019 Ford Escape (automatic) that I've driven 500 miles since last oil change with less than 3K on it - same question. Thank you!

Once a year or 5,000 miles whichever comes first, so in your case once a year will suffice.

Probably also not a bad idea to switch to full synthetic if you haven’t already.

Changing the oil every year is enough. Try your best to start and at least warm up your cars at least every month.

You might consider downsizing to one car, if two aren't getting enough mileage.
