Hey Scotty. I have a 2007 Trailblazer 4.2 ltr. With 76000 miles and within the last 2 months we took the car in for a "good grace" maintance since our car has been shaking when sitting ideling at stop lights. They replaced the motor mounts saying it's normal for the Vortec 600 engine to be running like that. Checked the sparkplugs and they were all rusted we thought it had a possible salvage title did a carfax showed normal maintenance. Any suggestions on what the vibration coming from the engine and hitting the steering wheel could be? Also it gets worse when we have the AC on as well. Bought it at auto action in Phoenix Arizona. Did a carfax 45 history report all showing good maintance with 5 owners not really sure why 5.
First of all never buy a salvage car there in an auction for bad reasons who knows what the history is and since I had five previous owners obviously it is a clunker I would not put much money into that thing I would basically drive until the wheels fall off then send it back to the junkyard from once it came
Funny to mention that exclusively here. I checked the carfax and it really didn't have a salvage title or anything from any states sure it went around places and it's seem it's days. Honestly it's not a bad suv. I'm just wondering what could I do to get the shaking when it is ideling to stop could it be a water pump that's causing it? And since it was running lean I'm thinking about new fuel injectors it's only got 76k miles on it. Just wanting to get some tips from someone I really trust whos seen all those problems with cars. I've been watching you for about 4 years I am truly a fan and thank you for responding.
Honestly to effectly solve the issue I should pay the 60 bucks to get it checked over also was thinking it could be a bad head gasket didn't check the engine oil but the sparkplugs were for sure rusted over really bad
If it’s running lean it could be because you have a vacuum leak. Does it have a check engine light? Or service engine soon light? Have you had it scan for codes?
Check engine light came on a few times I don't recall the code off hand it was a p04 code stating running lean and another code stating bank 1 not performing as it should it runs a little better now since then it's been about 2 weeks and we got the codes to clear
P0171 is a possible code for a lean condition in bank 1. Evap or catalyst codes usually start with p04xx. Did you just clear the codes or was a repair done to get the codes to clear?
Italian tune up then AutoZone for the code reader.
