- Hey Scotty. I’m in the market of buying a used car and one that caught my eye was a 2015 Subaru WRX With a CVT. It’s got 159,000 miles on it but from the pictures it looks well taken care of but gotta see it in person to make sure. I was wondering if buying a Subaru with that much mileage will either be a money pit or a good purchase dudes asking 14k
No that is not a good deal! WRX with a manual transmission would’ve been okay, but with a CVT, they’re downright weak.
Scotty would never recommend you buy a high mileage Subaru with a CVT transmission.
Get the Civic type R instead. Or a WRX with low mileage & a manual transmission.
A. WRXs are performance cars, so it's doubly important that you have a mechanic check it out so you know that it was driven sanely and not stree-raced
B. Head gaskets are a known Subaru problem
C. Here is one of Scotty's many videos on buying a used car https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rks40ng2C2Y
D. Scotty has done a bunchof videos on Subarus - this one is on the WRX https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=scotty+subaru+wrx
No way. I would never buy a Subaru with that mileage.
