Hello everyone, earlier this week I was taking my 1999 Lincoln town car through a drive thru when I noticed that when I would press the accelerator I could hear either a knocking or rattling coming from the engine. Only when I would accelerate though. I pulled up to a gas station to check it, and when I revved the engine the first time I heard it again, but then it wouldn’t make the noise again until I started driving the car. The car only has 93,000 miles on it and it has never been driven hard so I can’t imagine it’s an engine knock but now I’m concerned lol. Any ideas? Thanks for any help you can give me.
A lot can happen to a car in 23 years even with low mileage. It would be helpful if you could make a video demonstrating the sound and upload it to youtube or a file sharing site and post the link here.
Yes make a YouTube video and post the URL here and I'll listen from age engines often can knock even though it's relatively low mileage bearings can wear
