Škoda Fabia, 2022, 1.0 TSI

My car has just turned 1 year old.

It´s got 16,000 miles on the odometer.

80 % is highway, long-distance driving.

Fist oil change was at 9,000 miles.

In the U.S. the "typical" annual mileage is usually considered to be around 12,000 but I don't know what would be considered usual in your location (Skoda is not sold here). So you're on the high side but it's not extreme, there are certainly people piling on many more miles in a year.

That's way too long between oil changes even if you're doing mostly highway driving.

16,000 miles in one year is medium/average. I agree with @chucktobias that 9,000 mile interval for the oil and filter change is too long. 5,000 miles is generally recommended.
