Hey Scotty, how well does the fourth generation (E46) BMW 3 Series made from 1999-2005 hold up? Are they dependable? Or are they disastrous technical endless money pits like the later models BMWs?

I consider BMW’s to be both dependable and also money pits. It cost so much just for basic maintenance, and even more so for unscheduled repairs.
My usually anecdote: I spent more money maintaining an older BMW for FOUR years, than TWENTY+ years owning my Honda Accord.
Jeez! Talking about a real money pit alright!🤣
