1988 BMW 325i convertible manual
Car sat before moving into the garage for timing belt change. Replaced: timing belt, accessory belts, timing belt tensioner, tensioner spring, water pump, spark plugs, distributor rotor, fuel filter, air filter, oil pan gasket, exhaust manifold gasket, valve gasket. Valve job. Replaced all fluids.
Checked: timing, use of starter fluid in intake manifold. Bypassed/jumped fuel pump relay, fuel pump runs. Fuel pump relay and dme click on with 12 volt power supply. Swapped out new aftermarket crank position sensor, swapped back in original. Held old spark plug up to intake manifold to check spark - there’s spark. Checked fuses and fuse #11 for fuel pump. Plugs aren’t flooded with fuel nor smell of fuel. Just cranks. How do I get it from cranking to starting? What am I missing? Start attempts kills battery. I have to keep recharging battery. TIA for any input. Would really like to get this on the road.
What am I missing?
