My son has a 2007 Lexus is350. H recently had the alternator fail. The mechanic told him there was an oil leak that caused the failure. The cost to replace the alternator would be about $800, but the oil leak would cause that to fail, so to fix the oil leak would be $5000. does this sound feasible? Thanks,

This sounds like the biggest rip off I have ever heard of. You could ship your car to me in Oregon, I would fix both items and ship it back to you for half that price. Take it somewhere else, please!!
