I've heard from a few friends who have been looking for brand new cars that when they go to the dealership looking for a specific trim the salesperson there would tell them when they manufacture cars especially now with the chip shortage they make the higher trims or add factory packages which have the most profit for them. Is this actually how it is or is this something they're saying so they can sell the higher trims? This question is specific to Toyota in this case.
Who knows....All the Toyota dealers around here show generic photos and have a footnote says "in transit". But I've seen all sorts of levels of trim with low, medium, and high trim prices.
Regardless of what tomfoolery they're pulling, sounds like you're planning on buying one. If I were you I'd keep whatever I have now.
Not sure how this answers my question because I just asked a general question based on curiosity of what I've heard from friends.
Sounded like what you were getting at, I gave my general opinion.
I don't see any indication of me wanting to buy a new one in my question. Again as I stated it was a general question out of curiosity so if you have an answer to the actual question great, but if not maybe just scroll by.
