Dear Scotty Kilmer
I'm a UK expat living and working abroad in Saudi Arabia. I bought a second hand Jeep compass 2018 2.4L here which is still under its 60,000km warranty.
I took it on a road trip down south here where it's hilly and mountainous. It kept over heating. It does the same when driving off road.
I can provide photos and video.
My colleague is an engineer and mechanic and is convinced the AC condenser has been sprayed with silicone rubber. Can you give your opinion?
We think it's stopping the air flow and the engine isn't cooling. Also the fan comes on far too soon.
Possibly, it was designed for the extreme cold of Canada and the North American market not for the Arabian gulf. One of the hottest if not the hottest place in the whole world!
I wish I'd done my due diligence and watched your channel before I bought it.
Is it worth contacting Jeep USA?
Well if you did spray it with silicone rubber wouldn't pass air through to the radiator and that would do that. Otherwise do my video how to fix an overheating car engine Scotty
