I Scotty, im a huge fan and i learn a lot whit youre videos, i have a Jeep Cherokee latitude V6 3,2 lt 4x4 active drive II, i have a lot of problems and the new one is a PTU transfercase problem, the 4x4 in not working and the SVC 4x4 is on, the mecanic said is a problem related whit the programation of de ECU and i have to change the hole Transfercase, coul it be just the module PTU or I have to change it completly? or do i have other solution? is worth triying to fix that issue?
Sorry to hear that. You don’t specify which mechanic. I would get an opinion from a dealer and another from a non-dealer transmission shop. See if they agree and what options they give you. Unfortunately I don’t think there is going to be a cheap way out of this.
Your headline says a lot. The good news is that, in this market, if you want to put a bandaid on it and sell it, you might come out ahead. Or a dealer might buy it from you as-is, if they are desperate enough.
