Jeep JK Engine Won't Start (Cranks for 1/2 Second)

I have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler, 2-door, automatic transmission with 130,000 miles.  When I turn the ignition key to start the car the engine cranks for about a half a second and then it seems that the solenoid disengages but the starter continues to spin for several seconds until the computer completes the starting cycle.  The 6 year old battery tested at 38% so I replaced it with a new one rated at 730 CCA but the issue persists.  No codes in the engine.  Any guesses or tests I could do to troubleshoot the fault?  Thanks in advance!

Well 99% of the time you just need a new starter. That means that it's broken internally if it lets one part of its spin and not the other.
