Hey Scotty my 2001 Saturn sl1 with the 1.9l SOHC blew the head gasket at no fault of its own. I had er to the rug between 2nd and 3rd. Replaced the head gasket aswell as the intake manifold, exhaust manifold and valve cover gaskets. During the process I broke the vacuum line from the egr thingy on the exhaust manifold to the throttle body so I patched it with fuel line as the product is discontinued. I believe it to be a tight fit. Anyway the car fired up and sounded good but ran at about 2500 rpm constantly until I shut it off about a minute later. Is it possible timing has anything to do with it. VACCUM leak??? Where should I start now?

There are tons of reasons the car can idle high. When you do a head gasket job. You took a lot of stuff apart. You're going to have to retrace everything. More often than not. It's some type of vacuum like unless you bro wiring or sensors or something like that putting it back together
