Hey Scotty, you were right about the stealerships. I Tried to take my 2015 jetta in for a transmission service. I called them on the phone, told them my mileage and that I just wanted the fluid changed. They said ok lets make appointment.
They call me back the next day saying I need new spark plugs, air filter, oil and brake fluid. The air filter was three days old! Spark plugs less than 3 thousand miles. I tell them this and they say well their data shows I need new plugs and a tune up. I tell them I just want the service so they call me back and tell me they cant do it because it was due at 50k and im at 75. Got me with a diagnostic fee (i didnt ask for) as i went to pick it up.
Never going to a dealership again.
There’s a reason they’re called stealerships..
You're lucky you only got hit with their diagnostic fee & not a thousand dollar repair bill.
You can pressure them for it back if you want to. If you didn't say nothing it still money. They don't got a right to charge for a service you didn't ask for.
I haven’t been to a stealership for service ever and hope to keep it that way.
