Is this a good vehicle? What kind of transmission does it have? Does it have an interference engine and timing belt (or chain)? How long can I expect it to last and what kind of special maintenance will it need?

No, Kias are not good vehicles. Search the board for examples.

Stay away from all Hyundai/Kia/Genesis products. Their engines have a tendency of blowing up.
