Hello, I am looking to buy a kia sorento years 20009-2010 how good of a decision is this? and what are some things to be extra aware on this car. this is going to be my first car and the price range seems to accommodate to my budget but I have heard not so good stuff from this car from years 2011-2016 so I am wondering if the year I am looking for is any better
Avoid 2010, thats a new body style. 2009 and before wouldn't have all that engine fire and blowing up problems but they are OK, alright for a Hyundai, definitely not anywhere near as good as a Toyota. Our 2009 Kia Sporage is rolling along just fine with 130k miles. I would look for a Toyota unless you get the Sorento dirt cheap.
What about a sedan or hatchback? You can get them a lot cheaper. Toyota Corolla, Toyota Camry, Honda Civic, Toyota Matrix, Honda Fit...
Avoid anything Hyundai/Kia. There is a reason they are cheap.

yes sure I am open to other options I just havent had luck finding a rav4 or crv in good shape for less than $6000 since i will get this car to keep it for as long as it can last me
Don't buy a Sorento, you can get so much better for the money. Even an Explorer or an Escape would be much better than a Sorento.
