Hello everyone how's it going? 2001 Honda Civic LX 5-Speed a lil over 165K miles. No problems so far however I've encountered one that being when going highway speeds on 60+ mph and I hit the brakes I notice a knocking sound coming from the passenger side. I debunked that its not the brake pad/rotor as both driver side and passenger side are brand new. The sound slows the lower the speed dies down. I will include the sound doesn't occur driving under 60. Is that a sign of a bad CV Boot or something else? And is it considered a safety issue?
If CD boot is wrapped in grease leaked out it's the joint but if not check for Warren ball joints tie rods and wheel bearings and of course also check the struts often the strut mounts will start to wear out and they will knock when pressure breaking
I'll most certainly have those checked. Thanks you for the reply
