I have a 2015 Kia Optima 53000 miles on it with that super reliable never any problem 2.4 theta engine😂 The reason I still have it because itâs my wifeâs old car long paid for so thought it would make a good second back up car to keep around and has such low mileage. Had it since new sure wish I watched scotties videos back then never would have got it. Havenât really had any trouble yet probably due to low mileage but just the recalls, class action law suits , engine failures and fires, and now this theft issue with no immobilizer. We were told shouldnât park it in the garage might burn down your house now the park it in a garage somebody likely to steal it. Starting to think best thing to do is push all Hyundai and Kias off a tall cliff maybe the cliff from the closing scene in the old 70âs movie Dual. Scotty keep up the the good work telling people to stay away from these Korean pieces of junk.
They're definitely rolling piles of junk. They have issues with the engine and replace it and the replacement engines have issues too. Kia/Hyundai are the exact definition of garbage. Their most recent issue I read about was a part from the seatbelt popping; it takes so much effort to ruin something simple that so many manufacturers have been doing correctly all these years.
not just popping. Exploding, sending shrapnel everywhere.
True. couldn't think of the word when I initially posted; thanks for the correction.
There's a thread on North American Hyundai-Kia issues:Â https://carkiller.com/scottykilmer/qa/HMG/
As it seems, Hyundai-Kia doesn't even try on the NA market.
Thank you for the Hyundai Kia issues link. Didnât realize there was one here.
Today I towed a 2016 Kia Sorento that got a new engine installed in the past. The new engine went out and the owner got another engine on the way to get it installed.
They are good in mall parking lots. You just look for the smoke and there it is.
