- Hey Scotty I have a 2012 Chevy Cruze LS with 105,000 miles and an automatic transmission. When I try to accelerate from 2nd to 3rd it would sometimes lag a bit before upshifting and sometimes I would get a knock back feeling. Do you think it could be something with the Engine, or Transmission? Or both? Or neither?

When is the last time the transmission fluid and filter were changed? What codes are you seeing? (A professional-grade scan tool may be required to retrieve transmission codes.) Also check your engine and transmission mounts in regards to the knocking feeling.

Sounds like an issue with the transmission could be something wrong with the transmission. Or it might just need fluid/filter change and as Chuck Tobias said try to see if their is any codes for the transmission (there most likely will be).
