I have a Honda Accord same material. Only way to damage it is leaving it too long and is recommended to be cleaned with soap and water after removing all dirt. It’s a low cost leather but very durable, all the steps are in the manual. I use leather cleaners by armor all and such and haven’t seen any damage in 3 years.

leather has a distinct cowhide smell. You can also tell by looking at an exposed edge.

Or you can call the dealer with your VIN and they can tell you.

I have used the Lexol Leather cleaner for years. So far so good. I have heard you can use leather cleaner on vinyl but not vinyl cleaner on leather.

are you sure it isn't the other way around?

That is what I was told. I have followed that advice for years and have not had a problem.
