Scotty, I bought a Fahren LED bulb kit for my headlights on my dad's honda accord. I installed them and everything and it took about an hour, but they don't even turn on for some reason. Do you know what the problem may be. The lights came with a radiator fan little thing, but I didn't connect it. Do you think I should bring it to a mechanic or is there another fix for it?
You must connect the fan. LEDs get very hot, and if not cooled properly, they scorch.
Could be a bad kit or any number of things. That problem is tough to diagnose without physically being there to see it in person. You may need to let a local mechanic have a look.
It was a great kit; it was a best selling kit on amazon that was $60. I don't think it's a bad kit. As Joe said, I am pretty sure I need to connect the cooling fan as I don't know how to do that. I should probably go to a mechanic think.
You definitely need to connect the fan. Bad kits can happen to anyone, anytime. But have it put in professionally. It won't cost much.
I spent an hour putting them in and I did it before I wrote this, so I would probably pay the professional the money just to fix my mistakes. Anyway, thanks for the help, mod man.
No problem. It should be easy to get working. Good luck!
Yeah, I hope. Every time I mod my car, it goes wrong and I waste my money. Judging by your name, I think you are pretty good at modding your cars.
It's how I make my money. That and building and selling cars. {black}
Cooling fan definitely needs to be plugged in.
additionally, LEDs, unlike regular filament bulbs, only illuminate with the proper polarity (positive/negative connection). Diodes only allow Current to flow in one direction.
Absolute MUST that the fans are connected. That is, unless you like smoke coming from the front of the car.
Where do I need to connect them too? The company sent me some plastic things to tie it only, but I don't know where they need to be connected to?
