i have a 2007 Lexus GS 350 with 113k miles. when i turn on my AC my car starts to idle kind of rough and loud. when i turn it off it goes back to normal. could it be my compressor going out or could it be something else causing it to idle so loud?

It could be the compressor, though you would also want to check all the pulleys in the serpentine belt path. (The compressor puts a load on the entire serpentine belt system when it kicks in.)
It should be possible to turn the compressor clutch plate (not the pulley) in its normal direction of rotation by hand. It should turn smoothly with no grinding noises.
