Are the 2006-2011 Lexus GS 300's as long lasting the GS 350's of the same years? And are they expensive in repairs, parts and maintenance? And can any of those years be used as a daily driver for a long time at this point?
For that 3rd generation GS (MY2006-2011), the GS300 was only offered for one model year 2006 in North America, so you are essentially asking about the 2006 GS300.
Here is a comment from a member on the 2006 GS300:
I had 06, 10, and 14 Lexus GS350. They are great cars and pretty reliable. However, STAY away from 06 GS300; they have issues with carbon built up issues so I would try to get 07+. 2010 comes with bluetooth audio and has better NAVI interface.
Being one model year in North America did not give Lexus a chance to refine and work out the kinks in the powertrain for the 2006 GS300. Also, see below:

I have a 2011 Lexus GS 350 with 80k as a daily driver. The V6 Toyota 2GR engines that those have are tanks, they can run and run forever and are very reliable if maintained well.
The only thing is that any Lexus car is going to be a bit pricy, especially as the prices of used cars are going up in general, but if you can find one in your price range and a good mechanic checks it out, they are absolutely amazing cars to drive.
I love my 2011 GS 350 to bits, it’s very sporty while also having the signature Lexus luxury feel. I can’t recommend it enough! If you can find one in good shape with good miles and in your price range, I’d say send it!
