Hello, first time poster, following Scotty for a while and exchanged my moneypit Audi A6 and got a 2008 Lexus IS250. I just got it past 100k miles (currently sitting at 103k).
I love the car, I really do, I changed the transmission fluid and just got the engine cleaned up of all the carbon buildup, but since I bought it, it has had this clicking sound from the engine, particularly when on the throttle. The mechanics said it is just injectors, but the Audi I bought previously was bought from a mechanic, so I am cautiously skeptical about what they say.
I should note that there are no codes or any "orange" values on the OBD. Name the issue and I'll fix it. As I said before, I love the car.
Any input is appreciated. Thank you all in advance.
Sounds like a valve tick. Do you record this on a.cold start up? Does the sound get lower or go away as the car runs?
That recording was not on a cold engine.
The sound is barely noticeable when the bonnet is shut.
