I thought I found a cherry 1 owner lexus I was going to buy with 90000 miles, but while dealer was prepping the car they told me they found a timing cover leak that they will repair. They said if they had found it sooner they would have sent it to auction since it is such a large job, but will make it right at their expense since that is how they do business. I watched a video on this repair and it does look quite involved-taking engine out of car etc.
Should I continue with this purchase? or are they going to take so many peices apart that it will have continued problems down the road.
Also can I do any repairs on this car myself down the road as I say they used a lift to raise body and lower the engine to repair.
Thanks Scotty .Love your videoes!
Yeah I pass on that one because when a dealer does work like that the mechanics generally don't get paid much and often do a sloppy job. Warranty work is what all mechanics hate doing
It's from a dealer, a guaranteed bad deal to begin with.
