Hi Scotty! What would cause a 1999 Lincoln Town Car with 94000 miles on it to not want to start in the cold? Just today I had to hold down the accelerator to keep it running because it wouldn’t idle. After holding down the pedal for a few minutes trying to warm it up, it thudded, and the engine sped up. I let off the accelerator and it idled normally. Any ideas? Thanks.

Have you checked the battery voltage? Cold weather always finds the weak ones. I'd start there.

Battery is new-ish.Car cranks over fine, sputters, then dies usually. Only on colder days. But today had the weird problem with having to hold the pedal down for a few minutes, making a thud/whoosh noise, revving up, then idling normally.
