I have come across a 1996 Lexus gs 300 with 155000 miles on it, but has an engine knock. Is it worth it?

It has an engine knock. In a Lexus GS, that alone is enough to pass. Lexus engine repairs are not cheap.

At that age and already with an engine knock - also is there a service history (do you have any idea if they changed the engine oil and transmission fluids regularly?) - I would pass.

nah be patient even if it takes months youll find something better, also if it drives good its a MUST for an inspection you never know

Is it worth what? You didn't mention the price. But probably not.
