- Hey Scotty I’m huge fan of your YouTube channel. I just wanted to get your opinion on these 5 cars and tell me which one you recommend to buy used. Which used car should I buy? 2020 Toyota Avalon Limited, 2020 Lexus ES 300h Luxury, 2020 Honda Accord Touring, 2020 Acura TLX, or Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400.
The Avalon Limited is by far the most value and will be the most reliable. The Lexus you listed is a Hybrid and will be very reliable, but will be expensive to maintain around 150 200k miles. The Infiniti is OK but WILL start falling apart at around 120 130k miles. The Accord is actually a good car if you like the Accord get that but realize the somewhat weaker auto transmissions but it should not go out anytime soon. I would pick between the Avalon and Accord, Avalon being more value and comfort oriented, Accord being more sporty.
Depends on exactly what kind of car you want and how much you want to spend. If you're looking for something that's fun to drive everyday and gives good value, I would go with the used 2020 Acura TLX. I think you can find a better deal for a used 2020 TLX compared to a used 2020 Accord Touring because Acura completely redesigned the TLX for 2021. The TLXs are very reliable as well.
On the other hand, if you value comfort more than sporty driving, go with the Avalon. The Lexus is also a solid choice but it's probably a lot more expensive than the Avalon, both to buy and for long-term maintenance, if you plan on keeping it a while (since it's a hybrid).
Yes, new Avalon should be a safe bet. Remember the used Acura's from about 2013 on have had nothing but transmission problems with their 8 9 and 10 speed transmissions. I would stick to Avalon or maybe a 2019+ Accord 2.0T.
