Keep Or Not. 2006 Aveo.

Hey Scotty. I have a 2006 Chevy Aveo HB, auto/48K, mint cond. Owned since brand new. Very few problems,(timing belt/water pump replaced 3 yrs ago, due to age, not miles/problems, for peace of mind), Normal DIY maintenance, oil, tires, brake pads, etc. I drive so little,at 14yrs, in south Fla. am I pushing my luck?? Or do I have yrs. left in it?  I know it's a Chevy/Daewoo, but it looks and drives new. Next to no big issues ever, timing belt was the biggest, did that due to the belt age.  To prevent it snapping at 40K miles. So...opinion Scotty...or others😁

I would say just keep it for now. It's only got 48K miles on it and you said the timing belt is new so it should be relatively trouble free for another 50K miles or so. Additionally, if you sell it or trade it in, you will probably get $2500 at most. I would say keep driving it and once something expensive breaks on it, then either sell it or junk it.

40k miles is not a lot it is not a Fiat so it could probably last a while but the second you start having "minor" problems, get rid of it.

Your were smart to replace the timing belt before it blew as if it did...the car is worth nothing from many posts I have read.

You missed that Bullet...

I did the timing belt due to age. Thought it MIGHT be wearing out from time...not miles. Didn't know if time or miles was more important,so did it and put in huger grade belt. NOT GM crap

Hy!

If you like the car and do not put too much money in it, keep it. It is the low mileage one. If you plan to drive similar amount of miles per year in future, the buying a new one is a money wasting project. Just keep it from rust.

Good luck with it as long as possible!

I'm keeping it till I can get a older older Corolla. Maybe a 2004....here in Ft. Laid. No rust😁. So...a Toyota in the future, just need to. find one
