I’m in need of assistance to find a affordable good school in California to become a private mechanic. Thanks for the help.
Congratulation on your decision. You can try some junior colleges as they are the least amount if they offer any automotive training but in all probability you will have to seek a private company. now let me give the low down on that..my son in law went thru that quite some time ago and went with WYO-Tech in Wyoming. He took the classes they recommended and owed about $35K when he got done. Wyo-tech also included in their services that they would find him a job after graduation. Well they did find some jobs were way out of the area far FAR away. Oh i forgot he was living in Glendale CA and moved to Wyoming for all this. So as you can see...schools make a lot of promises as the consulars make commission on the classes you take. WYO-tech has gone out of business but the owners have bought the old facilities and doing the same thing as before under a different name. So BEWARE of what these private schools will promise you..BE VERY PESSIMISTIC as you must be on your guard. paste this msg on your dash so you won't forget. Also I might add is to try to focus on the areas of turning wrenches you want to be in. You can't be everything..you could but that was long ago..LOL! Also Hybrid and EV technology is here and getting rapidly developed...a new generation of tech will emerge along side the old guard of ICE tech. its like when in 87 fuel injection came into being and the old guard of mechanics could only cope with carburetors and retired. i say 87 as that was the year smog requirements became so much higher carburetors could not meet the emissions specifications. Anyways..there it is...
Thank you so much for the advice! I will make sure to be on guard.
