Hey Scotty!
I drive a 2012 Scion xB that has got over 180,000 miles on it. My engine was shaking quite a bit. I checked the oil level in the engine and discovered that there as only 2 quarts of oil left. I had to go to Autozone to add 3 quarts of new 5W-20 high mileage full synthetic oil. It has been 3,500 miles since my last oil change, that's roughly 1 burned quart of oil every 1,200 miles. My next oil change is not due until 5,000 miles. I am getting a little worried that my engine is starting to wear down. I have used the Lucas Oil Low Viscosity Stabilizer to try to help my engine. Should I change the oil sooner than 5,000 miles? Is synthetic oil more susceptible to burning? Could it be that I need to replace the sparkplugs? Any advice would help. Thanks!
That is a common issue with the 2az-fe 2.4 engine.

They usually start to start burning oil around 100k miles but you were lucky to get that much out of it. Check if Toyota could do something about it for free which they probably won't you will just have to live with it putting better oil or pay insanly high amounts of money (like $2500-$3500) to fix it.
