any tips on fixing a loose rear view mirror I always find it is vibrating to a lower position every 2 days or so, and finding my self adjusting it too often, looks to be a basic mirror no fancy tech on it.

There should be a little hex screw at the base. Take it out with an Alain key put a little lock tight on it(blue one) so it doesn't come lose again and  retighten

thanks I did not know that

Is it the base where the mirror attaches to the front windshield? or do you mean the mirror itself isn't keeping the position you set it to?

If it's the first question then that's already been mentioned about the set screw tightening. But if it's the second question. The mirror is just a plastic ball and socket compression setup and after time its looses it's ability to keep the mirror where you left it. It's not expensive to replace.

i would say the situation is the second question i will look into a replacement or fill the ball socket with 5min epoxy
