I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty with 148k miles with an automatic transmission. A couple weeks ago, I noticed my steering was getting very hard. I checked, and I was low on PSF. I filled it up, and a few days later, my steering was hard again and my PSF was low again.

You have a leak in your power steering system.
