Hi all,
Wonder if you could help. I have a 57 plate Seat Altea with the error code P0030. I have changed the O2 sensor pre cat twice now!
The car runs fine from what I can tell no coughing or spluttering but its failed the emissions test. The mechanics have said it could be the cat or something else. I have recently change the post cat part of the exhaust part just wondered if anyone has any ideas of what it could be.
Thanks for any help in advance.
Cheers
Well many things can trip that coat but start by looking for vacuum leaks on the engine sucking air that can cause that. Sometimes even pour gasoline cause that. And I even fixed one the other day that it was just a software problem and the computer had to be reprogrammed. The systems are so complex and those codes are so relatively generic that hunting them down can often be Total Insanity so many people the vehicles run okay they just ignore them
Hey Scotty!!
Thanks so much for the information I shall start with that there does definitely seem to be a sucking sound when I give the throttle a tap all the pipes are tight from what I can see and tell so will have a bit more of a dig about. Big fan of the youtube channel and have learnt a lot.
All the best and thanks again!!
Chris
