LOOKING AT buying 2001 solara convertible

I am looking at a 2001 Solara V6 SLE with about 60k miles.    Private seller is not first owner, and has not changed the timing belt, so I should I do that right away?   If one of these would normally go 200-300k miles, how far should I expect this one to go before it needs major work? What is going to fail early just because of age? It is a 100 percent west coast car, so no rust.  Love your youtube channel. thanks.

With that age and a timing belt I would. I would also be suspicious of the mileage. Can it be proven?

The car is 50 miles away, so I was trying to get info about life expectancy here before I go look.  If it visually checks out, I'll pay for carfax, that might support the claim. I don't know how else you could prove mileage. It there some way to DISPROVE a mileage claim?

One way to check mileage is to see if Carfax reports higher mileage at any point in its reports. (About all Carfax is really good for since not all accidents or repairs are reported.)

There are other signs, like wear on pedal cushions, carpeting, seats, etc. that can throw doubt on low mileage claims.
