  • Scotty,
  • Thanks for the car advice and great videos.
  • I have a 2012 Kia Soul with 125,000 miles. Recently, I changed spark plugs. Then the gas mileage dropped fron 30 mpg to 26 mpg. Is there a correlation?
  • How should I proceed? Spark plug wires? Clean mass Air sensor or replace fuel pump? Please advise.
  • Thanks!

What type of spark plugs did you install? I would advise using iridium ones from a reputable company. Also, clean the MAF sensor, throttle body and change the air filter could help.

Thanks. I used iridium plugs from NGK and changed air filter.

Check all the hoses and make sure all are plugged in.

Okay. Thanks!

Don't start "firing the parts cannon" until you have a reasonable diagnosis. There's probably some sort of vacuum leak. Tightening clamps and hoses is where you should start.

If  that doesn't do it, a smoke test might be in order, to find the leak.

If you know your car needs some work, and you are capable of doing the work, I say "Fire that parts cannon!! " Do some minor repairs needed. It will lead you to another path to follow.

Thank you!
