I have a 1962 ford thunderbird. automatic, I haven't driven for a while. started her up, let the engine warm up, drove around the block. I heard a loud bang similar to the kind water pipes make. parked it , shut it down and while parked it still made that banging noise a couple of times. i'm not sure if it's the exhaust. i thought maybe the transmission but, it was rebuilt but has about 10 miles on it. original engine, no signs of a rebuild and has slight blowback. any conclusions on your end? thanks

could be a so many things. Looking under the hood and underneath the car might reveal some clues.
