my engine bay fan is really loud and stays on for a couple of minutes after engine shut off. Shortly after I noticed it my check engine light came on.
I’ve been using a range AFM disabler for the last 40k miles but I unplugged it for a couple days to bring it in for inspection (gotta drive it 50+ miles to reset computer to pass inspection)
but I decided to plug it back in after hearing the fan noise and when I plug the AFM disabler back in the loud fan noise goes away and the check engine light goes away? Why is this?
the gadget might be clearing the light and masking a problem. Get a diagnostic scan to find out what the light is trying to tell you.
Time to make a quick stop by your local auto parts store and see what their scanner can tell you. It could be any number of things.
