Loud metallic snap when applying brakes

2016 Toyota Camry XLE 3.5 V6, auto trans, 49,000 miles, second owner purchased from dealer, owned for 2 years.

When cold (when vehicle hasn't been driven for a day), when backing up and apply the brakes a loud metallic snap happens. Brakes work fine but make the loud noise when brakes are applied, no matter the pressure on the peddle, noise only happens upon depress. Noise goes away after the car has been driven (warmed up). Only happens when car hasn't been driven for a while, therefore is cold. Only makes the metallic snap when backing up. Can I fix this myself?

Thanks,

Greg

I had the same issue on my old Corolla I‘ve had for almost 13 years and about 90k miles… never managed to figure out what that was…
