Hello. I have a 2013 Ford F150 Fx4. I have noticed for awhile now from time to time when I first start driving it after it sits overnight or just a short period of time, it makes a very loud creak/squeak noise. It usually happens when I first start driving it or if I'm in a drive thru and pull up slowly. Yesterday I was pulling out of my local grocery store and I went to turn out of the parking lot and it made a awful loud squeak noise. That's another thing, the exit in the parking lot has a small drop when pulling out onto the street and it tends to do it when your going up a hill slow or pulling out somewhere that has a small drop I guess you would call it. Makes me think it's either something to do with the drives haft or maybe the parking brake might be sticking. At least that's in relation to what I read about online. Someone said it could be power steering related but that truck has electric power steering so I know that's not it and it does it when I'm driving straight. Like I said it almost always happens when I'm in a drive thru and I go to pull up. If anyone could shed some light for me on this I would greatly appreciate it.
Yeah I watched that video and it didn't really help. That was almost like a grinding or scraping noise. This noise I'm getting sounds like a very loud squeal noise. It makes me think something needs greased or lubricated. Like it's dry out.
The reason I included this video in my post was to point out the equipment which Scotty uses to find the source of the noise, not the actual noise itself. Try to rent (or buy) a similar device which will help you to pinpoint the source of noises (for cars, houses, etc). Once you have located the source/area of the noise, you can investigate further.
LOL
😆 thank you. I will give that a try. I appreciate the help 🙏
